The Transfiguration of Christ

Let Us Support One Another on the Journey

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On the night of the Great Easter Vigil the Church cries out in joy at the awesomeness of the Father’s love in the Exultet, the Solemn Easter Proclamation: “To ransom a slave you sacrificed your Son!”

One of the best known passages of the Gospel is : “God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that those who believe in Him may not perish but may have everlasting life”. Jesus is proclaimed Beloved Son on the mountaintop during the Transfiguration. The Apostolic witnesses had the veil lifted to allow their eyes to see Jesus as He really is.

We can receive the same gift if we live out our Lenten time of penitence with patience and perseverance. Then our spiritual vision can be unclouded to see the dignity and worth of all people as Children of God. Even our own self!

Let us all support one another on the journey to new life in the Resurrection!
