What an Exciting Week!

My Dear Parishioners and Friends,

What an exciting week to be a Catholic in the Diocese of Allentown! To be part of the ordination and installation of Bishop Alfred A. Schlert was unbelievable. In the name of both Parishes I congratulated him. We did present him with two gifts. The first was a white chasuble for his chapel use and the other was a white miter. This will be with him in Rome these next two weeks as he is schooled on being a Bishop. Let us continue to pray for him as he now has received the fullness of Priesthood.

Again, my deepest sympathy to the Holy Ghost family on the loss of their Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Msgr. Richard J. Loeper. It was my honor to have preached at his Vigil this past Friday at Holy Ghost. Due to a scheduled Baptism, I was not able to participate in his funeral in Birdsboro, where Msgr. Nevin J. Klinger preached and Bishop Alfred A. Schlert celebrated his Mass of Christian Burial.

Let me offer a word to Lehigh University students: WELCOME! You are always welcomed at either parish during the school year. Please be aware you have two masses normally, at 12:10 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. at Lehigh’s Packer Memorial Church. Sometimes they won’t work with your schedule. Know that the parishes have three other options for you: 4 p.m. Saturday at Incarnation, 8 a.m. Sunday at Incarnation, and Sunday at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost. Please make use of them. I promise you a remembrance in our prayers for your academic endeavors.

It’s Labor Day weekend. Let us enjoy these days and thank God for the ability to work or have worked.

God Bless,
Fr. Cliff
